What did I read in July 2025

I’ve been following JL Collins’ blog for a few years now, and I’ve always agreed with his investment philosophy.
With my kids heading off to college and starting their own adventures, I thought this book would be a perfect read for them. It lays out a path to financial independence in a way that takes the stress and worry out of money.

The best part is how approachable it is. The book is easy to pick up, straightforward, and explains investing in the stock market without making it overly complicated

I’d definitely recommend it to anyone just starting their career or really anyone curious about how simple investing can set you up for long-term wealth and freedom.

My friend recommended this book and I did not know what to expect. The title was intriguing, so I jumped right in. From the get-go the style of the storytelling was unique and very interesting.

When I started, I did not expect the book to be so funny. Django does a great job of weaving humor into an intriguing storyline. It feels like he’s playing with all the classic fantasy tropes we know, but doing it in a way that keeps things fresh and surprising.

The pacing is sharp, and it never drags. What really stood out to me is how approachable the book is, you don’t need to be a hardcore fantasy reader to enjoy it. It’s entertaining, witty, and still manages to deliver a thoughtful twist on the genre.

I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something that’s fast-moving and fun, but also has enough originality to stand out. It’s the kind of book you can relax with and just enjoy the ride.
